  1. Fill in the balances. Start your offer at 25-30% of the balance, not your maximum.
  2. Specify cashier's check or money order - never personal check (exposes account details).
  3. Do NOT send payment until you have their written confirmation.
  4. Keep their confirmation letter permanently - it proves the debt was settled.
